Little Crumbs - The Sharpest Tool in the Shed

I've met a wonderful new expression today, which I'd like to share with you 


"[Ryan is a sweet guy, but he] isn' the sharpest tool in the shed." 


The expression means that the person in question isn't exactly smart. Or: slower than his peers. Or: not the fastest gun in the West. The idiom is mild and modest, but expresses strong criticism. If you like it, be my guests and integrate the term into your vocabulary, jut be careful to not reduce it into a cliche. :)
